Thurston Moore

Sonic Life: A Memoir

The founding member of alternative rock band Sonic Youth which formed in 1981, Thurston Moore defined the sound and music identity of a new generation. He joins music specialist Roger Miles of Olympic Records to talk about his memoir Sonic Life. Thurston traces his career from his teen years as a music obsessive in smalltown America to living in a world of post- punk bohemia in pre-gentrified Manhattan. The book details Thurston’s personal history of alternative rock in America and the music that defined an era.
