Wild Thing: A Life of Paul Gauguin

Sue Prideaux talks about writing Wild Thing, a vital re-examination of the trailblazing and controversial artist Paul Gauguin – the first full biography of the artist in over thirty years. Sue describes the importance of her research in Polynesia to understand this complex artist. She discusses the people, places and ideas that shaped Gauguin’s vision. Wild Thing explores Gauguin’s exuberance, his creative epiphanies and his fierce words. Sue Prideaux is the author of prize-winning biographies of Nietzsche, Strindberg and Munch.
