Vianne

Bestselling author Joanne Harris joins us for a special film and in-conversation event for her new novel Vianne, the intriguing prequel to Chocolat.  The original novel sold millions of copies worldwide and tells the story of Vianne Rocher and her scandalous chocolaterie in a rural French village.  The new novel begins six years earlier when Vianne arrives in Marseille to start a new life and first discovers the true magic of chocolate.  The event includes a screening of the much loved Chocolat film, based on Joanne’s novel, starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp.

While writing Vianne Joanne collaborated with distinguished perfumer Sarah McCartney of 4160 Tuesdays to develop a special fragrance inspired by the novel. There will be a chance to try ‘Vianne’s Confession’ when Sarah joins Joanne to discuss its creation.

Tickets cost £12 / £18 / £20 depending on the event.
There is a 25% saving on all festival books pre-ordered with event tickets.
